Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including on-call services, therapeutic procedures, and PET/CT patient exams in an acute care environment. Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams and procedures. Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations. Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality. Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines. Regular and sustained attendance is required. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs.
