Overview Retirement Benefits Counselor – Analyst I (JC‑518030). Salary range: $3,861.00 – $6,276.00 per month, depending on classification level. Full‑time, permanent position located at the San Bernardino Regional Office, 650 East Hospitality Lane, Suite 330, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Regular office hours are Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime, weekends, and travel required. The role offers a hybrid schedule: up to two days remote per week. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for active and retired CalPERS members, providing education and guidance on retirement program benefits. Assist members with questions about retirement benefits, health benefits, and related policies. Conduct in‑person and virtual presentations and one‑on‑one meetings with members, applying Public Employee Retirement Law (PERL), Public Employee’s Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA), and other relevant legislation. Provide accurate information on benefits, policy changes, and new initiatives to members. Collaborate with other departments to address member inquiries and ensure consistent messaging. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are defined in the Classification Specification and include the required experience and education related to the Retirement Benefits Counselor role.
