Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) Knoxville is seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgical Technician to support our Surgery Department. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside board-certified surgeons and emergency clinicians , refine advanced skills, and manage complex surgical cases in a fast-paced, high-level veterinary environment . Key Responsibilities: Anesthesia & Surgical Support Administer and monitor anesthesia for soft tissue, orthopedic, and emergency surgeries Perform anesthetic calculations and develop patient-specific protocols Monitor ECG, blood pressure, SpO₂, ETCO₂, and anesthetic gases Operate ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment Surgical Assistance Prepare patients (IV catheter placement, sterile prep, positioning) Maintain sterile technique and assist during surgery Support advanced and specialty procedures Perioperative & Critical Care Monitor recovery and respond to anesthetic complications Assist in stabilization of emergency surgical patients Documentation & Teamwork Maintain accurate anesthesia and surgical records Collaborate with surgeons, ER doctors, and technicians Participate in ongoing training and skill development Here is What You Will Bring to the Position: Completion of a two-year or four-year American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program from a community college, college, or university License certification varies by state Externship experience Here is What We Will Offer You: Exceptional compensation Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Tuition Reimbursement (in an accredited Veterinary Technology program) Retirement: 401(K) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays Training and career development Paid license fees and dues Generous CE allowance Paid VTS specialization Ready for your next Adventure to live your best Veterinary Lifestyle?
