Position Overview: Petry Transport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tri-Axle Dump Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safely transporting materials to and from construction sites while ensuring the efficient operation of equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a clean driving record, and the ability to perform manual labor and basic truck maintenance. As a key member of our team, you will help support the smooth flow of construction projects by adhering to all regulations and ensuring the timely and safe delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Operation: Operate the tri-axle dump truck safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.

• Material Transport: Transport materials such as dirt, gravel, or other construction materials to and from job sites.

• Loading and Unloading: Ensure materials are loaded correctly onto the truck and unloaded safely at the designated location.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of the truck, including checking fluids, tires, and lights, and report any issues to management.

• Log Keeping: Maintain accurate driver logs, including hours worked and mileage traveled.

• Communication: Communicate regularly with dispatchers and other personnel to ensure efficient operations and address any issues or problems.

• Compliance: Comply with all OSHA & MSHA regulations and company safety policies.

• Manual Labor: Perform manual labor such as shoveling material.

Qualifications:

• CDL and DOT Medical Card: Possess a valid Class A or B, A preferred, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a DOT Medical Card.

• Clean Driving Record: Maintain a clean driving record.

Experience: Proven experience operating a standard dump truck.

• Ability to Pass Drug Test: All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Reliable Transportation: must have reliable transportation to and from work.

• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a crew to achieve project goals.

• Knowledge: Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.

• Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Reliability: Be reliable and able to work over 40 hours as needed.

• Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Ability to clean and grease the truck.

• Physical Stamina: Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving and perform physical tasks when necessary.

• Flexibility: Flexibility required, including the potential for weekend and extended shift work as needed to meet project deadlines.
