The Private Markets Originator is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities in private markets, including private equity, private credit, real assets, and venture investments. The role blends market intelligence, financial analysis, and relationship management to generate actionable investment pipelines that align with the firm’s strategy.
This position involves collaboration with investment teams, portfolio managers, legal/compliance teams, and external partners to structure and execute transactions efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesSource and identify private market investment opportunities aligned with firm strategy
Conduct financial and strategic analysis to evaluate potential investments
Build and maintain investment models, due diligence materials, and internal presentations
Collaborate with investment teams to structure deals, negotiate terms, and support execution
Manage relationships with sponsors, founders, intermediaries, and co-investors
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging investment themes
Track and report on investment pipelines, deal progress, and origination performance
Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior management
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
Understanding of private markets, capital structures, and deal execution processes
Experience or coursework in private equity, venture capital, private credit, or real assets (preferred but not required)
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and valuation
Excellent relationship management and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CRM systems, SQL, or investment analytics tools is a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Strong interest in private market investments, deal sourcing, and capital strategy
