An established national CPA and advisory firm is looking for a Tax Senior Associate to join its growing team in Maryland.

This opportunity offers a combination of tax compliance, accounting and advisory work, with a particular focus on supporting businesses and entrepreneurs.

You'll work directly with Partners and Senior Managers, take greater ownership of client engagements and gain exposure to more complex tax and accounting matters.

The Opportunity

You'll be involved in a variety of tax, accounting and consulting projects, supporting clients with both their ongoing compliance requirements and wider business decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns.
• Manage moderately complex tax and accounting engagements.
• Work directly with Partners and Senior Managers on client matters.
• Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Analyse financial information to support client decision-making.
• Support larger engagements, including planning and coordination.
• Identify potential tax and accounting issues and help develop solutions.
• Supervise and review work completed by junior team members.
• Communicate directly with clients and build strong working relationships.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA qualification or actively working toward obtaining it.
• Previous experience preparing tax returns.
• Ability to research and resolve technical tax and accounting matters.
• Experience supporting or supervising client engagements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence working directly with clients.
• Good working knowledge of professional tax and accounting software.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• An interest in developing broader advisory and client management experience.

Experience working with construction businesses, contractors or closely held companies would be beneficial, although candidates with a strong general tax background are also encouraged to apply.
