Facilities Maintenance TechnicianHelp Create a Safe, Welcoming, and Well-Maintained Campus Environment

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in maintaining a beautiful, safe, and fully operational campus environment that supports students, staff, and visitors every day.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work, takes pride in maintaining facilities and grounds, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. From performing repairs and preventative maintenance to supporting campus events and maintaining outdoor spaces, you'll have a direct impact on the daily experience of everyone on campus.

What You'll DoFacilities Maintenance & Operations

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of campus buildings and facilities

• Complete painting, carpentry, and repair projects in a timely and professional manner

• Assist with basic electrical and plumbing repairs

• Monitor building systems and support preventative maintenance efforts

• Help maintain heating and cooling systems and coordinate service needs when necessary

• Support event setup and breakdown activities, including furniture movement, room preparation, and cleanup

• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment

• Conduct routine inspections and address safety concerns proactively

• Support compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements

• Assist with inspections conducted by external agencies and vendors

Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance

• Maintain the appearance and safety of outdoor spaces throughout the year

• Perform mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and general landscape upkeep as needed

• Operate, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems

• Keep walkways, parking areas, and common spaces free of debris and hazards

• Identify landscaping concerns, including pest or plant health issues, and take corrective action

• Maintain and repair groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers

• Support seasonal projects, including leaf removal, storm cleanup, and weather-related preparations

• Respond to facility and grounds emergencies as needed

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with special projects and facility improvement initiatives

• Maintain a consistent, reliable presence and strong customer-service mindset

• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards

• Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment

• Support additional facility needs as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required

• 1–3 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred

• Equivalent combinations of training and hands-on experience will be considered

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision

• Working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and repair techniques

• Experience operating power tools, lawn equipment, pressure washers, and other maintenance equipment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• HVAC certification or technical training is a plus, but not required

• Experience using work order systems or maintenance tracking software is preferred

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as needed

• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods

• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Ability to respond to occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance and event support needs

Work Location: On-Site

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
