HVAC/R Technician

JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the HVAC-R maintenance and/or repair of a variety of specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7‑Eleven (family of brands) stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to the appropriate technician. The position reports to the Area Facilities Manager. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Job responsibilities and qualifications may be superseded by local, state, or federal regulations. Respond to work orders for a wide variety of in‑store equipment, including minor repairs of HVAC, refrigeration, cold beverage equipment (e.g., tea, fountain, FBD, FCB, creamer machine), fountain/backroom ice makers. Respond to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues. Complete preventative and basic maintenance tasks on structures and other equipment, including dispensers, point of sale (POS), computers, security equipment, telephone and data lines, heating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, lighting, signs, and pumps as required. Replace ‘plug and play’ equipment as needed. Schedule and prioritize duties and work assignments on a daily basis. Perform minor repairs to equipment such as hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, etc. Manage parts inventory and ordering for truck. Complete required reports and paperwork daily to account for time and use of parts and materials. Observe and inspect equipment to determine if servicing or further action is required. Have knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Use hand and power tools applicable to the job. Know refrigerant recovery and safe disposal of refrigerant. Perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines. Read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Work with HVAC/associated systems employing computer‑based monitoring and control devices. Knowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting. Use computer‑based monitoring/control devices in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems. Have working analytical and problem‑solving skills. Assign work to and oversee the work of direct service providers in the HVAC trade. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Assist with training of less experienced technicians as needed. Work independently and under minimal supervision. Know how to braze refrigerant lines and components safely and properly. Complete other duties, including special projects, as assigned by management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EDUCATION: High School/GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 1+ years. YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA. CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: EPA 608 (Type I, II, or Universal) Certification. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Show Leadership (Practice Leadership skills daily). Peer to Peer Tech support. Effective communication. Projects/Stretch assignments. Facility location ownership. Ability to lead the team (meetings, projects…) Pay: $20.00 - $37.00 Hourly.
