Exciting Opportunity for Labor & Delivery Nurses!

Job Description:


- Unit: L&D/PP - Perinatal
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- First to Float to Postpartum and Antepartum
- Births per Month: 200
- L&D Beds: 12 | Triage Beds: 10 | Antepartum Beds: 12
- Certifications Required:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Advanced AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- Ratios: Follow ACOG and AWHONN Guidelines
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: Yes, can take patient assignment if needed
- OB Techs: 2 scheduled OB techs per shift to assist in deliveries and stock supplies
- Fetal Heart Monitoring System: Fetal Link
- Vents: No
- Onsite Specialists:
- 2 OB Attending 24/7
- 1 Neonatologist 24/7
- RT and Pharmacy: Available 24/7
- Scrub Color: Provided and must be sterile
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in L&D
- Experience in high-risk deliveries required (e.g., multiples, diabetes, substance abuse)
- Familiarity with pitocin, mag sulfate, insulin drips, etc.
- C-section experience must include circulating and, preferably, scrubbing
- Orientation: 3 shifts on unit
- Common Diagnoses:
- Patients 20 weeks and above
- High-risk conditions (blood pressure issues, no prenatal care, etc.)
- Travel experience preferred
- Nail Policy: No acrylic or overlay nails during assignment
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13 week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
- Charting System: Cerner
- BSN Required: Not Required
- License to Submit: Yes
- Trauma Level: Not specified
- Care Setting: Acute
- Contract Length: 91 Days
