Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience License: Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse) Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: Bachelor's degree from accredited School of Nursing, Associates degree, or Diploma Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team. The nurse plans and implements patient and family education. The nurse is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients. Essential Job Functions: Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation (Assessment). Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis). Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care). Implement the identified plan of care. Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Evaluate nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice. Integrate research findings into practice. Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor. Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment. Creativity, problem analysis, and decision-making skills. Ability to work varied shifts. Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality. Stroke Competency: Comply with policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke. Participate in initial cerebrovascular disease education within the first year of hire. Participate in annual cerebrovascular disease education.
