Project Manager

Project Manager – Smith Services, Timken Motor & Services Smith Services, a division of Timken Motor & Services, is seeking a Project Manager to provide support of operations at its Princeton, WV site. Responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑value drivetrain and other specialized operational build projects. Own the project lifecycle from initiation through close‑out, facilitating customer and internal meetings and reviews, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring successful contract execution. Provide technical and management reporting—including design data, reports, and schedules—, oversee vendor and supply‑chain activities, and maintain clear schedule and communication continuity with internal and external stakeholders. Serve as a single point of contact on project or program activities for both the customer and the company, coordinating project planning to identify schedules, design efforts, costs, and other considerations. Coordinate project details with various individuals and functions within the Timken Power Systems division to ensure successful execution and conclusion. Review potential changes in scope and advise management and/or the customer of the impact. Negotiate cost and schedule modifications, develop and write project plans, and assist and/or coordinate the preparation of cost and technical proposals in response to company requirements. Coordinate and conduct production and project activities and meetings, schedules, internal meetings, and customer presentations as required, and prepare and manage project budgets and expenses. Travel to support projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering. Demonstrated professional project management skills with a minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred). Electrical and mechanical background required. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Able to write and communicate internal reports and external reports to customers/clients. Experience in supply‑chain and vendor management with effective price‑negotiation skills and cost‑control measures. Technical aptitude to effectively understand, plan, and communicate project scope and technical aspects. Fundamental knowledge of workplace safety. Valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel 20 %. Willingness to continue professional development through training/classes/seminars.
