Principal, Public Markets Investment

This role supports a leading AI research organization by diagnosing a public-markets investment portfolio, assessing its positioning against current market conditions and appropriate benchmarks, and producing practical, implementable recommendations on asset allocation, fund and ETF selection, portfolio risk, rebalancing, and trade implementation.

• Evaluate holdings across public equities, fixed income, ETFs, funds, and other liquid investments.
• Diagnose portfolio construction issues, concentration risks, asset-allocation gaps, and primary performance drivers.
• Assess holdings versus suitable benchmarks and stated investment objectives.
• Produce a structured market update covering relevant macroeconomic, sector, and asset-class developments.
• Evaluate ETF and fund selection, including exposures, costs, liquidity, diversification, and overall suitability.
• Develop evidence-based rebalancing recommendations.
• Prepare clear implementation plans and proposed trade instructions.
• Analyze performance, volatility, risk exposures, and benchmark-relative results.
• Clearly document the rationale behind each recommendation.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly on deliverables.

• Approximately 8-10 years of professional public-markets investment experience.
• Hands-on portfolio management experience, including asset allocation, ETF or fund selection, and portfolio risk analysis.
• Background at an institutional asset manager, multi-family office, investment office, hedge fund, wealth manager, or comparable investment platform.
• Relevant prior roles include Junior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Manager, Investment Principal, Senior Investment Analyst, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of public equities, fixed income, ETFs, funds, benchmarks, and portfolio implementation.
• Experience producing market updates, portfolio diagnoses, rebalancing recommendations, and implementation plans.
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with portfolio-performance and risk analysis.
• CFA qualification preferred but not required.
• Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to explain portfolio decisions precisely.
• Detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable having investment judgments reviewed and calibrated.
• Prior experience with AI evaluation or structured investment-assessment projects is a plus.

• Location: Remote, candidate must be based in the United Kingdom.
• Engagement type: hourly.

• Hourly rate: 150 - 150 hourly.
