Desired Background and Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an ORT Nursing program
• Previous experience in perioperative settings strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and proactively prepare required instruments and materials
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a team environment
• Current BLS certification required
• Flexibility to adapt in fast-paced, high-pressure circumstances

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, solutions, and equipment
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to maintain a safe environment
• Ensure all surgical supplies and equipment are properly sterilized and functioning
• Adhere to infection control guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Support the surgical team in implementing patient safety measures throughout operative procedures
