Construction Litigation Paralegal Or Construction Claims Coordinator

Classic Floors Ferrazzano is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal or Construction Claims Coordinator to manage Florida Chapter 558 construction defect claims and assist with potential litigation matters involving residential construction projects.

This position serves as the central point of contact for pre-suit construction defect claims, coordinating investigations, collecting documentation, communicating with attorneys, insurance carriers, branch leadership, builders, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant claim resolution.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction litigation, insurance defense, or construction defect law and understands Florida Chapter 558 procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage all Florida Chapter 558 pre-suit construction defect claims from receipt through resolution.
• Review Notices of Claim and maintain detailed case files.
• Coordinate inspections with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and legal counsel.
• Collect project documentation including contracts, work orders, invoices, photographs, permits, warranties, and correspondence.
• Maintain litigation calendars, statutory deadlines, and response timelines.
• Draft correspondence, notices, settlement documents, and legal summaries.
• Assist outside legal counsel with discovery requests, document production, and trial preparation.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers, adjusters, and defense attorneys.
• Track claim status and provide regular updates to executive leadership.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical legal files.
• Research applicable statutes, regulations, and legal precedents as requested.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation and reduce future claims.
• Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of experience in construction litigation, insurance defense, construction defect claims, or civil litigation.
• Working knowledge of Florida Chapter 558.
• Strong document management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple active files simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate.
• Experience with residential construction.
• Experience working for: Construction company, Builder, Construction law firm, Insurance defense firm, General contractor.
• Familiarity with litigation management software.
