All applicants will receive consideration regardless of membership in any protected status as defined by applicable state or federal law, including protected veteran or disability status Responsibilities Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm strip printers Maintains accurate neat account of patients cardiac monitoring status during episode of care Identifies and records patient rhythm in patient log as appropriate Verbally communicates report on pertinent patient/monitor data to/from appropriate colleagues During code situations, maintains contact with appropriate staff to assist with rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia detection Contacts biomedical engineering in a timely manner when the monitor equipment malfunctions Ensure and maintain proper operation and up keep of monitoring equipment The Monitor Technician reports to the Manager of Central Monitoring. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Consistently viewing monitor screens for up to four hours at a time (and up to 8 hours per day). No hazards.
