Job Description
GliaCell is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer on a subcontract to support a U.S. Government customer, providing technical expertise that sustains critical mission‑related software and systems for a large government contract.
Work
- Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting‑edge technologies.
Duties
- Architect infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Manage and tune containerization technologies: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, etc.
- Perform functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolution.
- Implement cloud cost‑saving measures and reduce AWS service costs.
- Prioritize sprints and generate tickets aligned with internal team priorities.
- Manage team tasking and sprint workloads.
- Track ticket execution and steer technical direction of infrastructure.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for code automation (GitLab runners, Argo CD).
- Communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance (CI within last 7 years).
- 12 years of professional experience, or 10 years with a related master’s degree.
- Current CWIP (DoD 8140) certificate.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
Desired Skills
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Athena, Step Functions) with Terraform and auto‑scaling.
- Understand AWS networking principles (VPC, NAT, Internet Gateway).
- Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Fargate.
Location
Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite full‑time). Little to no work from home; work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Salary Range
$200,000 to $280,000. Sign‑on bonus eligible. Salary determined by position, level, skills, experience, education, certifications.
