Assistant HVAC Project Manager

A growing HVAC contractor serving commercial and industrial clients throughout the Long Island area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of HVAC construction projects from kickoff through closeout. This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction project coordination that is looking to grow into a Project Management career path.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects
\n
• Track project schedules, budgets, change orders, and project documentation
\n
• Manage submittals, RFIs, closeout packages, and material procurement
\n
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met
\n
• Assist with project cost tracking, purchase orders, and job costing activities
\n
• Support billing processes, project reporting, and overall project administration
\n
• Help maintain accurate project records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• 2-5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction
\n
• Experience supporting construction projects in a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role
\n
• Knowledge of submittals, RFIs, change orders, scheduling, and project documentation
\n
• Exposure to job costing, project budgets, purchase orders, or construction billing
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction management software such as Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar platforms
\n
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
