Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs designated duties related to planning, coordinating and delivery of respiratory care and other patient care services to ensure optimum patient care in a safe environment. Assists the respiratory care practitioner when needed.

What you will do in this role:

• Proficient in all respiratory procedures and equipment that applies to patient of all ages.
• Proficient in clinical documentation.
• Excellent problem solving and innovative skills.
• Demonstrate professional practice and conduct at all times.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest team.
• Participates in Departmental Performance Improvement program as appropriate.

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of a two-year Associate of Science respiratory care program or Equivalent.
• PREFERRED EDUCATION: Completion of a four-year respiratory care program with a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS, and ALS OR ACLS) Course Completion and Certification. RRT, Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the Texas Department of Health. Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• One year of clinical practice in respiratory care in an acute care hospital setting. Advanced credentials in one or more of the following: NBRC Specialty (pediatric/neonatal or pulmonary function), NRP or PALS (preferred).
