Market Data Lead

We are seeking an experienced Real Time Market Data Strategy Lead to join our technology team to lead the support of real time market data usage and build a central strategy for the firm. This function will focus on organizing our real time market data feeds and scoping out additional needs to provide a central architecture that allow users to easily gain access to real time. Our firm trades a wide variety of products which means we will also require access to intraday feeds for various asset classes from various venues. This role will need to evaluate the scope of existing capabilities, understand the gaps and design a future state that will allow easy connectivity internally for teams and users, provide a solution for entitlements, coordinate with our sourcing team to enable cost tracking, a model for support, storage of the data for historical replay and modeling and be the main point of contact. This role will also need to create documentation and maintain a current list of our active feeds to empower users and allow for easy access to this data. Experience with time series databases like KDB will be important for storage, barring and replay of this data will be in scope after the initial strategy and architecture is operational. Responsibilities:

• Assess Current State: Review existing firm feeds, systems and usage of real time data and meet with leaders from each department to understand scope and gaps
• Build Strategy: After assessing our existing capabilities, this function will need to build a plan to consolidate our real time data into a consumable central architecture with proper controls, storage, support and coordination on costs
• Real Time Market Data Architecture: Plan, propose and build real time architecture to centralize access to our data feeds for our teams and users inclusive of access points, controls for entitlements, cost/access coordination with sourcing team, ability to add new feeds and store the data for historical playback
• Central Point of Contact/Support: This roll will coordinate across many teams and act as the central point of contact for requests and ensure teams understand the firms offering and how to use it
• Governance & Control Function: Coordinate with leadership from Risk, Product Control, Portfolio Management to ensure use cases understood for feeds, application feed selection is reviewed, and clear understanding of what sources should be used for each asset class.
• Client Management: Ability to speak with Technology, Portfolio and Business teams to understand data usage, needs, use cases, issues and manage properly
• Coordination with Sourcing: Experience coordinating with a vendor sourcing function needed to ensure onboardings and approval process is clear and run with tracking of requests/priority
