Job Summary
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Nurse located in Towson, Maryland. This position involves providing specialized care to postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those with complex hemodynamic instability and requiring advanced interventions. The role supports critical patient management within a high-acuity environment, ensuring excellent patient outcomes through expert clinical practice.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026
• Required Qualifications: MD Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications are preferred.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, OCN, PALS, TNCC.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant ICU experience; 1-2 patient ratio experience; charting system experience in Epic or equivalent.
• Patient Care: Managing post-op cardiac surgery patients including CABG, MVR, AVR procedures, structural heart techniques such as TAVR, mitral clips, preoperative patients on intensivist service, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, Inari procedures.
• Additional Information: Floating to medical surgical ICU as needed; on-call 24-32 hours per 8-week schedule; weekends every third weekend; holiday work as scheduled; handling complex procedures such as ECMO, Impella, CRRT, IABP, and active management of cardiac output.
