divh2Food Service Associate/h2pPerforms a variety of duties in operational support of the Food and Nutrition Department which includes cleaning, ware washing, serving, food preparation, food transport, and stocking of supplies./ppstrongEssential Job Functions/strong/pulliPatient and Retail Services ulliWorks various stations in patient meal service area./liliDelivers carts, meals and supplies to patient units./liliPerforms dishwashing and pot washing./liliServes food in the retail areas./liliStocks supplies throughout the department./liliFills in for cross-trained roles in the department./li/ul/liliRegulatory/Sanitation ulliMaintains work area in a sanitary manner; completes cleaning duties./liliPrepares, serves, and stores foods according to HACCP guidelines./liliPractices good hygiene including hand washing, wearing hair restraints, and glove usage./liliUtilizes FIFO when obtaining foods from storage areas./liliTakes and records temperatures of food during meal periods./liliChecks sanitizer in pots area with test strips and records at each fill./liliRecords dish machine temperatures each meal period./liliUses two patient identifiers when delivering trays to patients./li/ul/liliSafety ulliUses equipment in a safe manner; reports any issues immediately./liliCleans equipment according to established guidelines./liliRefers to and follows MSDS guidelines for chemical usage and storage./liliUses proper body techniques in lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling./li/ul/liliService Excellence ulliPerforms excellent customer service skills with all customers and coworkers./liliAnswers questions about prepared caf food items./liliHandles service recovery immediately or involves supervisor as needed./liliReceives and distributes all messages in a timely manner/li/ul/liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongCompetency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]/strong/ppstrongRequired Qualifications/Experience/strong/pulliHigh School Diploma, GED or higher level of education./liliZero (0) to One (1) year of experience in food service, sanitation, or service industry./liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice./liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications/Experience/strong/pulliOne (1) to Three (3) years experience in Food Service./liliExperience in Healthcare setting./li/ulpstrongLicense, Certification Clearances/strong/pulliServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred./liliAct 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system/li/ulpstrongPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work/strong/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./liliTravel may be expected locally between System locations./li/ulpstrongEqual Employment Opportunity/strong/ppIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
