DoD SkillBridge: Territory Manager

Territory Manager As a Territory Manager at US Foods, you build and nurture customer relationships, drive sales growth, and support partners across the foodservice industry. You will use your market knowledge and collaboration skills to expand existing accounts and acquire new business. Responsibilities Own and nurture customer relationships in a team‑based selling model; educate clients on ordering platforms, menu consultations, and pricing strategies. Increase case growth and acquire new business through effective sales presentations and tailored approaches. Collaborate with specialists to pursue high‑penetration opportunities and open new accounts; work closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless delivery. Identify prospective customers using market intelligence, directories, client leads, and trade shows. Manage deliveries according to routing schedules; troubleshoot issues such as mis‑picks, short loads, and stock‑outs. Maintain knowledge of market conditions, product innovations, and competitor activities, sharing insights with customers. Drive regular site visits and follow‑ups, using your personal vehicle, to ensure customer satisfaction. Supervision No direct reports. Work Environment Daily work outside the office, visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions. Minimum Qualifications 1+ year of sales experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle record. Foodservice, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication, presentation skills. Ability to build internal and external relationships and conduct cold calls to develop new business. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Competitive spirit; drive to exceed goals. Problem‑solving, organization, and negotiation skills. Team‑up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Salesforce is a plus.
