Qualifications Valid Texas driver’s license Ability to follow verbal and written directions Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair problems Ability to communicate effectivelyAbility to operate hand and power tools Ability to work independently Major Responsibilities and Duties Repair and maintenance of district facilities, including woodwork, electrical switches, fixtures, plumbing fixtures, drainage systems, and broken glass Perform maintenance and minor repairs Assist in the relocation of furnishings (desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.) Unload shipments of school supplies and commodities Move, install, assemble, and repair all school furniture and playground equipment Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers and other items as required Install ceiling and flooring materials Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required Work Conditions Continued walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching; work outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odors.
