Software Engineer

Salary: $145,000 - 191,000 per year Requirements:

• We require an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• We are looking for experience with policy work and/or a SIGINT background.
• We need proven Unix development experience and strong shell scripting ability.
• We expect working knowledge of configuration management tools and web services implementation.
• We are seeking hands-on software development experience with languages such as C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or JavaScript.
• We value experience in Agile delivery environments and with source control systems such as Git.
• We need familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, orchestration tools such as Spring and Kafka, and queue management systems.
• We prefer experience with Java development in Eclipse, J2EE applications, collaboration tools such as Atlassian, continuous integration practices, Docker, cloud-based technologies, and event-driven or data-driven analytics.
• Candidates should be capable of leading teams, implementing complex algorithms, and working within strict timing, resource, and interface constraints.
• We require one of the following: a masters degree in computer science or a related field plus 3 years of SWE experience; a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field plus 5 years of SWE experience; or 7 years of SWE experience in comparable programs and contracts.

• We analyze user needs to derive software design and performance requirements.
• We design, code, test, debug, and enhance software systems and features.
• We integrate software into new or modified environments and adapt existing code for new hardware or improved performance.
• We develop documentation, review system and software materials, and record test outcomes.
• We investigate problem areas, resolve defect reports, and improve system behavior.
• We create data queries and work with databases and data repositories.
• We apply appropriate software development and design methods for the environment.
• We contribute to system-level design decisions, including hardware/software trade-offs and reuse of OSS, COTS, and GOTS solutions.
• We build and execute test procedures for software components.
• We analyze system flow, data usage, and work processes to develop software solutions.
• We develop algorithms and support software installations while monitoring performance to ensure operational requirements are met.
• We may serve as a team lead and coordinate with system and hardware engineers on requirements, constraints, and interfaces.
• We perform quality checks on team deliverables and help refine documentation and development standards.
