Data Engineer (UX)

Clearance: TS/SCI

Interview: Hackerrank, followed by 2 Teams IVs

Location: 100% on site in DC (Georgetown)

Pay Rate: up to $90/hr on w2

Screening Questions:

-Please describe any experience you have, be it professional, academic, or casual, in working with query-based, code-based or analytical software (including but not limited to: SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, Java, R, Spark) to manipulate data or write pipelines.

-Please describe any experience you have with supporting a technical system (L2/L3 support, pipeline support, user support, GHE repo maintenance, devops, site reliability engineering) and on-call support rotations.

-Please describe any experience or coursework on usage/troubleshooting of web-based technologies (e.g. setting up authentication for a project, setting up TLS, querying APIs, building APIs, etc.).

-What does ownership mean to you? When thinking about working with management, what style works best for you? How do you think about prioritizing work?

-Please quantify (qualitatively and quantitatively) the amount of lines of code you have authored per language in the last two years.

Job Description:

Data Pipeline engineers ensure that our customers work with updated and accurate data in Foundry. You are the first to respond to data health failures on key pipelines. You are technical, with a passion for system support. You are comfortable reading code to identify fixes and making changes to improve the performance and stability of production data pipelines. Working alongside pipeline engineers from other customer accounts, your insights into the product and process will form an essential part of feedback to our product engineering team, and other user and product support teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Create user-facing applications in support of mission needs
• Support data integration efforts
• Design UX and platform navigation improvements
• Provide feedback to the Palantir engineering team about product

What We Value

• Prior experience with Palantir Foundry and Space operations (highly preferred)
• Technical background with working knowledge of Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong communication skills with the ability to break down, explain, and demonstrate complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time if needed
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Military experience is desired
