Job Title School Psychologist Qualifications Ed.S. or Masters + 30 in school psychology. Must hold School Psychologist II or III state certification in school psychology. Job Goal Under limited supervision, provides a wide range of services to promote mental health, emotional/behavioral functioning, and educational progress for all students with and without disabilities; coordinates and consults with teachers, administrators, placement teams, 504 team, and student intervention teams to design interventions, develop appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations and modifications; performs related professional and administrative duties as required. Reports to Chief Academic Officer Performance Responsibilities Coordinates and implements, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations to determine eligibility of students for special services Communicates evaluation results to parents, teachers and administrators. Consults and collaborates with teachers, parents, administrators and outside agencies to facilitate student learning and promote social-emotional adjustment through direct or indirect intervention strategies Makes recommendations for instructional programming Serves as an advocate for students Provides individual and group counseling for students as needed Observes students in school and home environments Provides parent and teacher consultation to address management of student progress in academics, behavior, communication, social and adaptive skills Prepares and submits accurate and complete documentation of all assigned cases. Participates on crisis teams Provides schools with legal and technical information related to IDEA, Section 504, and district policies and procedures related to special services Provides and/or assists in providing in-service training for school personnel Maintains awareness and expertise in current professional research, trends, and methodologies as they apply to school psychological services; attends trainings, conferences, workshops as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from staff, parents, medical personnel and students regarding special services Prepares/processes evaluation reports, intervention plans, training materials, case notes, and other records for special services Obtain records from other districts/agencies and input student data in data bases Perform other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Requires light work that involves walking or standing some of the time, and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis and/or routine keyboard operations Terms of Employment 210-Day Contract based on Teacher Salary Schedule plus stipend Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy #J-18808-Ljbffr
