Adjunct Faculty Member in PhlebotomyNew River Community and Technical College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty member in Phlebotomy to help prepare students for entry-level careers in the healthcare field. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of phlebotomists.Position OverviewThe Adjunct Faculty member will provide didactic and hands-on laboratory instruction in Principles of Phlebotomy. Courses are delivered at the Greenbrier Valley and Nicholas County Campus and may include in-person, online, Zoom, or Interactive.Adjunct faculty play a vital role as educators, mentors, and collaborators, contributing to student success and workforce readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging classroom and laboratory instruction in phlebotomyTeach venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques effectivelyEvaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic recordsProvide timely, constructive feedback to support student growthCoordinate clinical rotations with program leadership and healthcare partnersEnsure compliance with college policies and safety standardsUtilize technology to support in-person and virtual learning environmentsMaintain regular communication with students and facultyParticipate in department meetings and required college activitiesComplete course assessments and reporting requirements on timeWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:Current national certification in one of the following:Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Science/TechnologyMedical Assistant, LPN, or RNAssociate's degree (or higher) in an allied health or related fieldMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience performing venipuncture and capillary puncturePreferred Qualifications:Teaching experience in higher educationExperience with Zoom, IVN, or online instructionFamiliarity with instructional technology (e.g., Microsoft Word, learning platforms)Experience with dual enrollment programsSkills & AttributesStrong technical expertise in phlebotomy practicesAbility to effectively teach both theory and hands-on skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to student success and academic excellenceStrong organizational and time management abilitiesOur Mission & ValuesAt New River Community and Technical College, we are committed to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality education that meets the needs of our region.We value:Respect – Fostering a culture of belonging and inclusionHonesty – Acting with integrity and transparencyEducation – Supporting continuous learning and growthCommunity – Building strong partnerships and engagementWhy Join Us?Make a meaningful impact in students' livesShare your expertise with future healthcare professionalsFlexible, part-time teaching opportunityCollaborative and supportive academic environmentAdditional InformationThis position may require performing additional duties as assigned.
