Field Technical Services Project Manager (Electrical) Full Time; MAIN, Ft Wright, KY, US Requisition ID: 1030 — Posted 5 days ago Salary Range: $31.00 To $40.00 Hourly SUMMARY: Responsible for managing construction of small‑scale vertical asset projects such as pump stations, force mains, storage facilities, and wastewater treatment plant repair/rehabilitation with an emphasis on electrical components. Supports the Pump Station Manager in prioritizing projects based on competing needs; develops conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs and programs for improvements to SD1’s vertical assets. Coordinates Field Technical Services work with other SD1 departments. Manages the Electrician on‑call program and responds to after‑hour issues as necessary. Oversees high‑voltage testing at pump stations and treatment plants, assists the Engineering Department with projects, and provides general contractor oversight. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the design and construction of Field Technical Service projects, including pump stations, electrical components, facilities, wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation and repair that are initiated and/or managed by the Asset Management Department and/or Engineering Department. Plan, investigate, and perform field work activities to determine feasibility and options. Oversee construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards. Direct construction and maintenance activities at project sites, including supervision of SD1 personnel (operators, laborers, and site foreman) and contractors. Coordinate with SD1 personnel and outside consultants in the preparation of engineering and design documents. Manage professional services and construction contracts, including costs, quality, schedule, and field activities. Coordinate with material suppliers and material testing subcontractors to meet quality assurance requirements of the design. Occasionally perform confined space entries; certification required within first 6 months of employment. Assist the Engineering Department during the design phase of vertical asset projects; review and comment on large vertical construction project design plans to ensure operational and maintenance needs are met. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil/construction engineering or related field; 2‑year or 4‑year college or technical trade school preferred but not required. At least five years of related experience and/or training with similar work involving water or wastewater operations and maintenance; project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five or more years of supervisory experience in wastewater field operations highly desired. Professional electrical license required; working towards Master Electrician license. Bachelor‑level education or experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering preferred. REASONING & COMPUTER SKILLS Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of Microsoft Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software is required to perform this job successfully.
