Chemical Engineering Intern Job Details Location: Missoula, MT Position Type: Internship Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Education Level: Currently Enrolled in a University Engineering Program Job Category: Engineering About the Job Thatcher is looking for the right intern candidate with a high motivation and ambitious drive to join our team as a chemical Engineering - Intern at our Missoula site. This opening is for a 4-month summer term with the possibility of part time through the school year. What You Will Do
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for plant operations. (Troubleshooting, problem solving, coordination, etc.)
- Perform engineering functions as determined by your experience, and ability to learn and work with people in various manufacturing processes.
- Assist in small projects including development of scope, economics, design, implementation, commissioning, training and start-up.
- Identify opportunities to increase manufacturing safety and efficiency.
- Create professional documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.) that define company manufacturing procedures and equipment
- Other opportunities to self-identify work are available depending on students interests and capabilities.
Basic Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a university Chemical Engineering program.
- Able to work within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
- What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in or knowledge of chemical manufacturing/refining solutions.
- Hands-on mechanical interests and aptitude.
- Experience with CAD.
