Assistant Director Of HousekeepingThe Assistant Director of Housekeeping supports the Director of Housekeeping in managing all aspects of the Housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.This role involves supervising staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and stepping in as the acting director in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping.Assist in overseeing daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-houseSupervise, train, and motivate housekeeping team members to ensure productivity and service excellenceConduct daily room inspections and quality control audits to maintain cleanliness standardsHelp manage scheduling, payroll, and attendance tracking for housekeeping staffAddress guest complaints or requests promptly and professionallyMaintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment; place orders as neededEnsure compliance with safety regulations, sanitation policies, and hotel proceduresAssist with onboarding and performance reviews for housekeeping staffCollaborate with the Front Office and Engineering teams to ensure smooth room turnovers and efficient operationsMonitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazardsFosters high morale, promotes a positive work environment built on effective communication and mutual respect for one anotherPromote teamwork and motivation through daily communicationCommunicate and enforce policies and proceduresConduct pre-shift meetings and review all information pertinent to the day's activitiesEnsure that special guest requests are met in an efficient mannerManage and monitor key control systems to ensure securityMonitor sound procedures for Lost and FoundOther duties as assignedAbility to remain standing for up to 10 hoursAbility to remain stationary in desk/meeting environment for up to 8 hoursAbility to move up and down stairsAbility to move quickly based on guest needsAbility to communicate and exchange information effectivelyAbility to complete a satisfactory background checkAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requiresMicrosoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.Property Management software (Opera)PhoneComputer and Printer/Copier/ScannerCleaning Supplies and EquipmentWork will primarily take place in a hotel resort environment2+ years of experience in a supervisory housekeeping roleWorking knowledge of hotel PMS software, Opera and Actabl (Alice) preferredStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailExcellent customer service and communications skillsFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business requiresMust know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashionAbility to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitalityNo Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guests or required by the hotel.
