Position Overview The East Carolina University College of Nursing (ECUCON), Department of Nursing Science seeks applicants for a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty position. Academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant. Responsibilities Maintain an active program of research in an area relevant to the mission of the college. Establish a funded program of research. Produce scholarly works, including peer‑reviewed publications and presentations at state, national, and/or international levels. Teach, develop, and evaluate relevant courses within the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Provide academic advisement and research mentorship to doctoral and Honors College students. Chair and serve on PhD dissertation committees. Participate in shared governance through college and university‑level committee work. Attend meetings and committee work three days per week. Qualifications Earned PhD in nursing (or related field, plus a master’s degree in nursing) or an EdD (plus a master’s degree in nursing) at the time of hire. Qualifying degrees must be received from accredited institutions. Evidence of a developed or developing research trajectory. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. In‑person and online teaching experience in a university or college setting is preferred. Licensure A valid non‑restricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required upon employment.
