Lost Time Claims AdjusterWe are looking for a Lost Time Claims Adjuster to join a multiline liability company in Louisiana. This person will be responsible for handling workers' compensation claims, managing the entire claims process from start to finish including the investigation, evaluation, reserving, strategy, negotiation, settlement, and closure of assigned claims for Healthcare clients. This Adjuster would primarily handle lost time of indemnity workers compensation claims and will manage around 120 cases. The ideal candidate is someone who has at least 5 years of experience working with Louisiana Lost Time workers compensation claims, has experience with state filings, and is confident settling workers comp claims. We are looking for somebody who is looking for a steady position with a company who values their culture, work-life balance, decisional directed, and organized.Essential Job Functions Include:Handle claims consistent with company policies, procedures and standard methodologies and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethical requirementsEnsures the accurate, timely, and appropriate delivery of workers' compensation benefits in accordance with Louisiana lawsMakes prompt contact with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved in the loss to set expectations, develop an action plan, and perform an initial exposure assessment in accordance with company guidelinesDetermine coverage, liability, and damages, including recorded statements and coordination of field inspections or experts when necessaryPlan, recommend, reserve and execute file strategies on assigned claims in a manner consistent with company claim policies and procedureAssures accurate and timely maintenance of reserving and excess reporting in compliance with company guidelines.Ensures regular and timely diary follow-up and brings claims to prompt and appropriate conclusion while keeping our clients informed throughout the life cycle of the claim processEnsures timely payment of benefits and appropriateness of medical treatmentIdentifies any subrogation potential and liability exposures and consults with the supervisorMaintains up-to-date diary notes and other electronic records that accurately and thoroughly document all file-handling activityMay be called upon to perform additional duties as directedCompliance with CMS Section 111 requirementsNegotiate with claimants to reach a settlementThis position will pay around $30/hr.
