Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM) and nights (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Position located on the 4th Floor East Wing Progressive Care Unit
• 55-bed unit serving primarily adult patients, with rare pediatric cases (ages 15 and older)
• RN patient ratio of 1:4 for both day and night shifts
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Experience with common drips and medications including PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin required
• Telemetry competency required
• Charting system: EPIC
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Mechanical lifts available in every other room
• Floating may be required, ideally to medical-surgical areas based on highest need
• Nursing assistant support, charge nurse, educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT available on unit
• Scrub colors: Navy Blue for RNs, Ceil Blue for CNAs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Valid driver's license required at submittal

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 1 designation, providing comprehensive medical services across multiple specialized units. The progressive care unit is a close-knit, collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary support including educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, and physical and occupational therapists. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and is equipped with modern medical technology to support high-quality patient care.
