Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Assistant Human Resources Manager. Essential Functions Serves as Human Resources Manager Serves as assistant to the Deputy Director regarding sensitive and potentially controversial issues Serves as full line supervisor Represents the Deputy Director and the Department at appropriate administrative and programmatic meetings Coordinates meetings and events on behalf of the Deputy Director Researches issues and compiles information in response to inquiries relating to human resources documents, files, and records Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimim Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college. Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization in the field of human resources. Preferred Qualifications Prefers three years of professional experience providing high level professional assistance to the human resources director of a public or private organization. Prefers three years of coordinating, supervising, or conducting recruitment events for a public or private organization. Prefers two years of experience supervising staff in an office setting. Prefers completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or public administration. Prefers three years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or private organization. Prefers three years of experience serving as a representative of their supervisor for a public or private organization. Conditions of Employment 1. Requires ability to pass a background check. 2.
