Reads and completes the operations specified on the job travelers. Interprets blueprints and part specifications to select the correct material, tools, and fabrication processes. Sets up welding machines for welding a variety of materials. Have a good working knowledge of inspection equipment and be capable of selecting the proper inspection tool to verify product conformity to specifications. Serves as a mentor to lower level welders and assists with coordinating workflow for maximum efficiency.ResponsibilitiesCapable of reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications, manuals or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece.Determine the sequence of operations and setup requirements to built work piece to specifications.Working knowledge of processes and needed parameters for the efficient welding of materials including proper welding machine configuration.Working knowledge of the welding characteristics of ferrous metals, (Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Hastalloy etc.) non- ferrous metals (Aluminum, Copper, Brass, etc).Capable of fabricating tooling and fixtures required to properly locate and hold parts during welding operations.Background in Industrial welding and fabrication fit up a plus.Skill Level Demonstrated Operations SkillsProficient use of hand and power tools used to prepare parts for welding.Complete routine machine maintenance.Clean welding machines and work area to maintain safe working conditions.Must be able to lift 75 lbs.Reads blueprint and job traveler specifications to determine the proper tooling required to set up each operation.Builds fixtures as required to hold work piece.Observes operation of welding equipment and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools.Modify welding equipment parameters as required to meet product conformity.Replace welding tools as required to meet product conformity.Maintain statistical reporting.Deburr work pieces as required.Clean parts as required.Must be certified in company required welding certifications.Generate setup sheets and welding procedures as required to meet customer specifications.Skill Level Quality ControlConduct first article inspection.Perform needed inspection and set up inspection tools for production run work pieces.Create and maintain statistical reporting.Create inspection tooling and fixtures as required.Proficient use of company inspection equipment to qualify parts.Conduct visual weld inspection, accurately measure weld size in inches and millimeters.Non-Essential ResponsibilitiesOperate forklift, sandblast, and tumble parts.Other duties as assigned by managementQualifications: Education and Experience5 - 10 Years welding experience using MIG and TIG techniques.Good math skills including basic trigonometry.General mechanical skills.Excellent time management skills and ability to work as a teamExtensive familiarity with the use of hand tools.Advanced blueprint skills including knowledge of GD&T tolerances.Advanced familiarity of all AWS (American Welding Society) and DIN (German Institute) symbols and their proper application.Knowledge of the following equipment: welders, drill press, blowtorch, press brake, and forklift.Knowledge of welding the following materials: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, low carbon steel, and high carbon steel.High school diploma or GEDPreferred certificates and licenses:AWS in D1.1 and D17.1 welding certificatesForklift licenseOther duties as assigned by management**NO CALLS FROM STAFFING AGENCIES OR RECRUITERS PLEASE**
