The Production Control Specialist plays a hands-on role in supporting daily production operations while maintaining high quality standards, accurate inventory records, and efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing facility. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer and company requirements, materials are available when needed, and all activities align with safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.

• Perform detailed quality inspections and verify that products meet all customer specifications and internal company standards.

• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure materials and finished goods move efficiently through the facility.

• Manage inventory control tasks, including maintaining accurate records and assisting with regular cycle counts.

• Support material movement across the facility and ensure timely delivery of components to production lines.

• Collaborate closely with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.

• Investigate quality concerns, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures in daily work activities.

• Perform data entry and documentation related to production, inventory, and quality activities using appropriate systems and tools.

• Assist with dispatch, freight coordination, and warehouse management tasks as needed to support overall material flow.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, production control, or inventory-related roles.

• Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with inventory systems, inventory control, and cycle counting processes.

• Hands-on experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing setting.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus for managing production and inventory data.

• Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, shipping and receiving, and freight coordination.

• Experience with warehouse management and dispatch activities.

• Solid customer service mindset when coordinating orders, shipments, and inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in production control, quality assurance, or inventory management in a manufacturing setting.

• Experience coordinating material flow between Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams.

• Ability to interpret and follow company quality standards and customer requirements.

• Comfort with data entry and maintaining accurate documentation for audits and reporting.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and resolve issues quickly.

• Ability to support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, inventory accuracy, and material flow.

• Interest in career advancement and skill development within manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with a blend of office and on-the-floor responsibilities. The position involves regular walking on the production floor to monitor operations, support material movement, and perform quality inspections. The standard schedule is a single shift from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with multiple scheduling options and overtime available once in a full-time capacity. Typical attire is appropriate for both office work and safe movement on the manufacturing floor, and employees use standard office software, inventory systems, and ERP tools to perform their duties. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
