Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days (5x8) Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1+ years License: Current occupational therapy license Certifications: BLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: - Implements treatment programs in a safe manner displaying a variety of treatment skills in specific treatment modalities. - Performs patient care to acceptable standards of professional ethics by respecting patient confidences. - Provides care to all persons without regard to medical problems. - Follows proper policy and procedure guidelines for Infection Control and completion of incident reports. - Performs patient documentation and communicates with other areas to meet quality improvement requirements. - Assists with marketing and coordinating workshops. - Participates in quality improvement and program evaluation activities. - Accurately evaluates patients' functional status and relevant medical and psychosocial factors. - Establishes appropriate treatment plans using measurable goals. - Prioritizes evaluation and treatment procedures to optimize patient outcomes and goal achievement. - Modifies treatment or evaluation approaches as appropriate to patient response. - Utilizes support staff effectively. - Serves as a resource person. - Provides appropriate orientation to new staff. - Identifies new or updates programs inclusive of determining appropriate policies and procedures. - Trains staff and monitors program effectiveness. - Acts as a clinical instructor for students. - Assists in departmental or special projects as needed. - Provides patient and family education in a clear and concise manner throughout care and at discharge. - Completes all necessary written documentation via notes, conferences, and charge entries in a clear, concise, and timely manner. - Demonstrates the ability to orally communicate effectively with other professionals, patients, and family members. - Maintains current knowledge of technical and therapeutic advances and provides education to others. Description: We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team. The Occupational Therapist will implement treatment programs safely and effectively. This role requires a commitment to patient care, respecting confidentiality and individual needs. The successful candidate will engage in quality improvement practices and assist in patient evaluations. You will be responsible for establishing treatment plans and monitoring patient outcomes. Collaboration with support staff and participation in staff training is essential. Teaching and mentoring responsibilities may also be involved. Candidates must be able to clearly communicate with patients, families, and colleagues. A proactive approach to maintaining knowledge of advancements in therapy is required.
