Join Apple and help us leave the world better than we found it.ResponsibilitiesPartner with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phaseDevelop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scaleDevelop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristicsCompile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specificationsLead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yieldsCollaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the productCoordinate and prioritize all Quality Engineering functions for multiple program for team membersEstablish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure alignment to Apple quality standardsEvaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processesDrive corrective actions with internal and external team membersMinimum Qualifications10+ years of experience in manufacturing and Quality ControlBS/MS in Material Science or Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing systems engineering, Chemical engineering or similar)Travel internationally to supplier sites - 30%Preferred QualificationsExperience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts.Working knowledge of material science, metallurgy, mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.Experience with the development and evaluation of measurement systemsProject management experience and a solid understanding of problem solving tools including design of experiments, root cause analysis and statistical analytical toolsExperience in a metals manufacturing environmentExperience with any of the following:Analytical tools such as SEM, EDX, Metallographic Preparation, FTIR, GC/Mass SpecGeneral materials test suite such as tensile, bend, corrosion, fatigue, crack propagation, etc.International experience, particularly in Asia is a plusPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,500 and $246,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
