Custodian (Full-Time) Join a Mission-Driven Team

Our mission is to enrich lives and support independence for individuals age 50 and older through programs focused on activities, wellness, nutrition, outreach, and daily living support.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Range: $15.00$16.50 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
• Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
  • Occasional earlier start times or schedule adjustments to support events

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of offices, restrooms, activity rooms, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces
• Clean and restock restrooms and replenish supplies
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly
• Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for programs and events
• Maintain outdoor areas, including entrances, sidewalks, and porches
• Perform light laundry duties as needed
• Assist with snow removal and apply salt or ice melt during winter conditions
• Respond to custodial and facility setup requests in a timely manner
• Report maintenance, safety, or repair concerns to appropriate personnel
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain an organized work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior custodial, housekeeping, or maintenance experience preferred but not required
  • Willing to train qualified candidates
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to service excellence
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity. Employees must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and reach frequently
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment
• Use stairs regularly and occasionally climb ladders
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Operate custodial equipment safely
• Perform repetitive movements involving hands, arms, and shoulders
