Schneider Electric's Power Distribution Sales - Sales Development Program (SDP) is a structured, immersive 12-month experience based in Nashville, TN, designed to accelerate your growth and prepare you for a successful career within our Power Distribution Sales team.

Program Overview

Our Sales Development Program equips you with the technical knowledge, professional skills, and real world experience required to thrive in solution-based technical sales roles across the country. Over 12 months, you'll progress through two distinct phases that combine classroom learning, hands-on practice, and guided sales experience.

Phase 1: Foundations (Months 1-3)

Classroom Style Learning | Nashville, TN

Your journey begins with three months of comprehensive, instructor-led training that builds your confidence from the ground up.

You'll learn:

  • Electrical Fundamentals - What electricity is, how it works, and how our products connect to real world applications.
  • Product Training - In-depth understanding of our Square D portfolio, including electrical distribution and industrial control solutions.
  • Professional Skills - How to communicate effectively, write impactful emails, manage your time, and stay organized.
  • Market Overview - The Electrical Market and our Customers, our Distribution Partners, and Understanding customer needs
  • Sales Techniques - Core selling skills, customer engagement strategies, and consultative selling approaches.

Phase 1 gives you the complete toolkit you need - whether you're coming from a technical major or learning these concepts for the first time.

Phase 2: Inside Sales Experience (Months 4-12)

Hands On Training in a Learning Environment | Nashville, TN

After building a solid foundation, you'll step into a hands-on inside sales role supporting one of our experienced sales areas. This phase is designed to let you apply what you learned in Phase 1 while being supported and mentored by seasoned sales professionals.

You will:

  • Assist with quoting, sales support, and customer inquiries
  • Work alongside outside sales teams as they interact with distributors, contractors, and key partners
  • Practice solution selling using real scenarios
  • Learn how to manage accounts and develop customer relationships
  • Gain exposure to the tools and expectations of field sales roles

This environment ensures you grow confidently at your own pace with mentorship every step of the way.

Program Completion & Career Path

After 12 months, you'll be fully prepared to step into a role within our Power Distribution Sales team at Schneider Electric. Graduates of the program interview for sales roles across the United States, and we seek candidates who are open to relocation to pursue these opportunities.

This Program Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Are a recent or upcoming college graduate pursuing a career in technical sales
  • Have a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sales, Business, or possess relevant technical or business experience
  • Have a technical background or the ability and motivation to learn technical concepts
  • Excel in building relationships and possess strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Are available to start January 2027
  • Are open to relocation across the country after completion of the program
