Job Overview – Concrete Foreman Schutte Excavating is located in Greensburg, IN and focuses on Community Development Block Grant Projects, Storm Sewer Projects, General Construction Management, Concrete Construction, and Site Development. The company travels within a 60‑mile radius of Greensburg and is expanding its workforce. The Concrete Foreman will read and interpret blueprints and drawings, determine materials and measurements needed, and manage the concrete prep, forming, pouring, and finishing process with 3+ years of strong experience in forming and finishing concrete, sidewalks, curbs, and structures. Dependability is essential. Responsibilities Review plans and layout concrete scope for the project. Plan, organize, and prepare work areas for concrete. Manage crews of 3–6 employees. Comprehend and complete tasks given in an efficient manner. Apply rough carpentry skills including cutting and shaping wood with hand and power tools. Perform manual physical labor for 8+ hours a day, lifting 25+ lbs frequently, bending, twisting, etc., and adapt to changing weather conditions. Hand dig, rake gravel, set forms, set rebar/concrete stakes, push/pull concrete, and finish concrete with hand tools. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Be safety conscious. Qualifications 3+ years of concrete experience forming and finishing concrete, sidewalks, curbs, and structures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Experience with concrete prep, forming, pouring, and finishing processes. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work well in a team. Valid driver’s license required. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions. Concrete foreman hourly rate depending on experience and references. FAQs What is the typical schedule? Monday – Friday; 7:30 – 4:00 (start and end times may need to vary at times). What are some of the specific projects you do? Commercial projects such as laying sewer and sanitary pipes, running water lines, and lots of concrete work (sidewalks, curbs, roads, and decorative). We also move dirt and use GPS for grading.
