Full Time Mobile Phlebotomist- St. Louis, MO

Pay Range: $20.00-$23.00 Based on experience ROLE The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, works to provide clinical pre‐analytical laboratory services to our clients/patients in a mobile setting. They are responsible for completing their assigned routes in a safe and timely manner and must follow all policies and procedures. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drive vehicle to client facilities (e.g., nursing homes) as directed by dispatcher or supervisor. Unload phlebotomy tray and deliver to patient bedside to collect ordered samples. Accurately identify patient before collecting specimens. Accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens to the laboratory. Reload equipment and specimens into vehicle for timely delivery. Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location, and create required records. Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions and use proper safety precautions at all times. Maintain required certifications, health, and operational requirements. Keep work area clean. Report unsafe conditions, complaints, and problems. Monitor supplies inventory and report low or out‑of‑stock supplies; segregate expired supplies. Report to work promptly, properly groomed, wearing identification at all times when visiting a facility. Accurately maintain time records of hours worked and deliver to company as directed. Manage assigned shift, including meal breaks. Follow all specimen preservation, patient preparation, and specimen management processes without personal deviation. Use only approved current documents. Make changes to records only per approved instructions. Be available for on‑call evenings and weekends; irregular unscheduled overtime may be required based on workload or absenteeism. REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities. Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledge residents' rights and patients' right to refuse. Demonstrate regular attendance. Hold a current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required). Hold a current, valid State Driver's license; have car insurance, a good driving record, and possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable for daily driving requirements. Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques. Knowledge of laboratory operations. Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee frequently walks, stands, handles or feels, talks, and hears. Occasionally sits, reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee may lift or move up to 35 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is a standard medical laboratory setting in which potential health hazards exist. Employees are expected to safely operate in accordance with applicable health and safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, as described in the Environmental Health and Safety Manual.
