Occupational Therapist School

Description:
We are seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a supportive school district in the Cortez, CO area for the 2026 2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for an OT looking for meaningful work with students, strong team support, and a high level of professional autonomy. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to students from Pre-K through 5th grade .
• Manage an average caseload of approximately 45 students .
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and other related-service professionals.
• Participate in monthly team meetings and professional development activities.
• Complete required documentation and administrative responsibilities.
• Provide services across multiple schools within the district as needed.

• 37.5 hours per week
• Schools operate on a 4-day student week , with no student services scheduled on Fridays .
• Fridays may be used for administrative work, professional development, planning, and other responsibilities, with opportunities to work from home .
• The district provides a high level of trusted professional autonomy .
• Join a supportive team consisting of approximately 7.5 FTE OTs and 1 COTA .
• Team meetings are held once per month .

• Colorado Occupational Therapist (OT) license through CDE required.
• Candidates with a pending CO CDE OT license may be considered if they have already applied .
• School-based or pediatric experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Although the position is listed in the Durango, CO area , the assignment is fully based in Cortez, Colorado , with floating between schools within the district.
