Location: Utica, NY

Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 shifts per week | 36 hours per week

Pay Rate

• Local Candidates: $59–$61 per hour, based on experience.
• Travel Candidates: $65–$68 per hour, based on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience and the ability to manage complex patient conditions while delivering safe, high-quality nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Care for patients with complex medical, neurological, cardiovascular, surgical, and trauma-related conditions.
• Manage patients requiring ventilator support, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), hemodynamic monitoring, and other critical care interventions.
• Operate and manage CRRT equipment, including Prismaflex or NxStage systems.
• Provide care for patients requiring intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support, ventriculostomy, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and targeted temperature management (TTM).
• Monitor patient conditions, assess changes in clinical status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document nursing care using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Follow established critical care protocols and maintain patient safety standards.
• Float to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral Health and the Emergency Room unless holding patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience ; 4–5 years preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience is required.
• Experience in one or more of the following settings:
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
  • Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)
  • Trauma ICU
  • Medical-Surgical ICU
  • Neurological ICU
• CRRT and Prismaflex experience required.
• Cardiovascular and cardiac care experience highly preferred.
• Previous experience with the EPIC EMR system required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
