Senior Electrical Engineer

Job TitleEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Design and detail industrial control systemsInterpret mechanical schematics to develop complete system designsGenerate design drawings, bill of equipmentSelection of purchased equipmentDesign & detail industrial control softwarePLC / controller code / graphic user interface codeFollow designs through to equipment fabrication, software code testing, and on-site startup / debugManage electrical portion of projectsSupervise subcontractsManage scheduleMaintain transmittal records and document controlInterface with the customer to establish design goalsSpecify electrical componentsMaintain project schedulesDevelopment of subcontract bid package documentationResponsible for complete system design, analysis, and engineering calculationAttend and/or conduct design reviewsSupport on-site installation team as requiredPerform site verification and field checking as requiredAttend customer meetings to understand project requirementsCommunicate with project team, customers, and suppliersUnderstand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problemsTroubleshoot electrical installation, both hardware and softwareTravel approximately 30%Nonessential Functions:Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering5-10 years of position-related experienceExperience with electrical engineering design for industrial controls and panelsExperience with industrial networking: Ethernet IP, ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Devicenet, etcAble to interpret NEC and local codesFamiliar with PLC programming, graphic user interface programming, computer operating systems, and networkingGood analytical and troubleshooting skillsFamiliar with instrumentation and process controlDesign engineering calculation abilityAble to read and interpret Electrical SchematicsKnowledge of DIN standards a plusAbility to learn and utilize Microsoft VisioProficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPointKnowledge of SAP is a plusAbility to understand and maintain project schedulesGood time management skillsGood organizational skillsGood verbal communication skillsGood technical writing skillsAble to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customersAble to work well independently and in a team environmentAble to technically define problems and propose solutionsAdaptable to change in a learning environmentWilling and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
