Associate Head Track/Assistant Cross Country Coach

Position Summary The Associate Head Men’s Track Coach/Assistant Cross Country Coach is responsible for assisting with the vision, leadership, and strategic planning in directing and supervising all activities related to the recruitment, teaching, training, and skill development of scholar‑athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competitions with specialization in sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis. Key Responsibilities Assist with vision, leadership, and strategic planning in directing and supervising all activities related to the recruitment, teaching, training, and skill development of scholar‑athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competitions with specialization in sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis. Establish positive, mutually respectful, and effective working relationships with scholar‑athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and the public to support the University's mission. Assist the head coach in providing a positive scholar‑athlete experience centered on physical and mental health. Organize, implement, and oversee all regular practice sessions and competitions, and be present at each. Develop, instruct, and motivate scholar‑athletes in fundamentals, techniques, and strategies to achieve high‑level performance, both individually and as a team. Assist the head coach with evaluating and recruiting athletically talented, academically qualified scholar‑athletes, and with monitoring, overseeing, and supporting their academic success in alignment with the University's mission and philosophy. Comply with academic policies established by the University and the NCAA, and maintain an environment that prioritizes higher education, reflected in class attendance, grade point averages, the NCAA Academic Success Rate (ASR), and federal graduation rates. Assist with the development, implementation, and oversight of the sports operating budget provided by the university. Develop fundraising activities and events to supplement the program's budget needs. Cooperate fully with the University in promoting the Program, the University's Athletics Advancement fundraising efforts, the University itself, the University's Alumni Association, and other University‑affiliated organizations. Perform additional duties and special projects as directed by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics in support of the department's mission and strategic priorities.
