Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 16-week travel Registered Nurse assignment
• Location: Burlington, Vermont
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 21, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts, including days and nights
• Scheduling: Monday through Sunday coverage; minimum of every other weekend and scheduling flexibility based on unit and patient-care needs
• Unit: Progressive Care / Cardiac Stepdown Float Pool
• Floating: Travelers may float among designated progressive care units and related specialties
• Orientation: Biweekly Monday orientations
• Transportation: Reliable personal or rental transportation is recommended

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Vermont
• At least 2 years of recent Progressive Care, Cardiac Stepdown, PCU, or related acute-care nursing experience
• Experience in a large Level I trauma and teaching facility
• Cardiology experience, including post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart patients
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification, completed prior to start
• Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years
• Ability to provide complete work history and explain employment gaps longer than 90 days
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts, floating assignments, weekend coverage, and changing patient-care needs

Progressive Care Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in cardiac stepdown and progressive care settings.
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart patients.
• Support patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, vascular procedures, urology procedures, and other acute surgical interventions.
• Float to designated units within the central progressive care pool, including cardiology, hematology, oncology, orthopedics, medical telemetry, general surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, ENT, and gynecology as needed.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate clinical concerns to the interdisciplinary care team.
• Administer medications, complete assessments, coordinate care, and document accurately in Epic.
• Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
• Participate in unit orientation, handoffs, and required weekend coverage while maintaining flexibility with scheduling.
