Night shifts, 7:00PM-07:00AM, 13 weeks, 36 hours guaranteed. Two years of experience required. RN license, BLS & ACLS required. Starts will be 4-6 weeks out. Please note: fingerprinting is required.

Facility Overview: MountainView Hospital serves Greater Northwest Las Vegas and Southern Nevada with comprehensive medical care. We are conveniently located off the U.S. 95 and Cheyenne exit. Our facility is a 340-bed acute-care teaching hospital providing intensive care, neurological services, surgical, heart care, emergency, orthopedic, oncology, women's services and outpatient services. MountainView features nationally recognized programs including a top cardiovascular and thoracic center, the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Robotic Surgery, an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center. Our other areas of excellence include emergency care, urology and gynecological services, orthopedics, vascular care and an inpatient physical rehabilitation unit. Our Red Rock Radiology provides accredited imaging services in a soothing outpatient setting.

MountainView is a teaching hospital, training the next generation of physicians. Our residents practice through our Graduate Medical Education program, in the areas of internal medicine and general surgery. Teaching hospitals deliver a higher level of care to patients, in a collaborative and academic focused environment. MountainView is a member of the respected Sunrise Health System, consisting of Sunrise Hospital, Sunrise Children's Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital and several surgery, diagnostic imaging and urgent care centers.

Unit Specifics: Number of beds: 12. Cost center: 65222. Length of contract: 8 weeks. Shift: Night (7:00PM-07:30AM). Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2. Unit staffing description: Charge nurse plus RNs (no secretary, techs, or c.n.a.). Type of equipment: Ventilator, balloon pump, CRRT, Swan-Ganz, art line, rapid infuser, blood warmer. Documentation system: Meditech. Scheduling requirements: 3-12 hour shifts/week. Floating policy: Float to other ICU units, IMC, & ED hold area. On call expectations: None. Weekend requirement: 4 shifts/4 week schedule. Patient experience requirements: Adult ages 18+.

Hiring profile: Requested skill set: ICU experience required, open heart surgery recovery experience preferred. Must have: 2 years recent ICU experience. Advanced skills needed: Able to care for patients on ventilator, IABP, CRRT, Swan-Ganz/PA catheter, arterial line/central line. Procedures performed on unit: Bedside central line placement, chest tube placement and removal, thoracentesis, intubation/extubation. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS.
