Job Description

The Neuro Med-Surg Tele Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients with neurologic conditions, including stroke and seizure cases, on a telemetry unit. This role involves monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and monitor patients in a 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Assist with continuous bedside EEG monitoring and telemetry.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care and treatment options.
• Float as necessary to other patient care areas, such as Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience is required.
• Experience in neurology and stroke care is essential.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Maryland or compact RN license is required upon submission.
• Basic EKG testing certification through Prophecy Relias must be completed before orientation.
• 8 hours of annual stroke CEUs and 4 hours of annual trauma-related CEUs are required.
• TCRN certification is preferred.
