Field Service TechnicianIf you are a Field Service Technician looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Huntsville, Alabama location, you will be part of the team that services pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants. You will be responsible for the inspection, refurbishing/repair and testing of pressure relief and line valves and related equipment.In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Perform service activities in house, at operating nuclear power plants and at outside repair/testing facilities. Travel is in the 40-50% range to include overtime, weekends and holidays as required by the customer.Perform testing to the applicable valve repair or in-service testing codes, standards and regulatory requirements.Recommend purchase of material, equipment and special tooling for repairs.Advise and assist sales, engineering and other departments concerning technical aspects of repair valves and replacement parts.Conduct production and engineering testing utilizing high-pressure test facility and related equipment.Who You Are:You persist in accomplishing objectives despite encountering obstacles and setbacks. You attentively listen to others.For This Role, You Will Need:High school diploma or GEDKnowledge of industry best practicesPossess a mechanical aptitude in conceptual designExceptional attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently, and meet scheduled deadlinesPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Associates Degree in Engineering, technical military experience, or 3 plus years of related work experience.3+ years' direct experience with document control (experience with proceduralized processes and quality forms/documents)Strong preference to those with safety relief valves and line valves products experience or other highly engineered product experience.Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance Programs, ASME standards and/or National Board Inspection Code is a plus.Prior experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated technical writing skillsKnowledge of electro-mechanical control systems and experience with high pressure test facility systems and the ability to operate, maintain and repair these systems.Our Culture and Commitment to You:At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
